Cassette Jam ‘05. Cassette collection

For those of you out there that remembers Cassette Tapes. This site has a huge collection of them. I’m not exactly sure what the point is and the site takes quit a while to download all of the images. But, this collection makes for a pretty cool art installation. This is a Japanese site so if you can read the language then you’ll probably be able to understand what it’s all about. Maybe leave a comment to let me know as well.

New Tommy Guerrero Adidas shoe.

I’ve been a big fan of Tommy G since, well, since I fist saw him in a skateboard magazine in 1984. He was one the first street skaters. Anyway, I’m not sure of the details of his Adidas shoe but I would assume that it’s a limited edition. They look cool and I would love a pair of size 10’s. If anyone knows where I can get my hands on some, let me know?

Check out Tommy’s bio and a cool video at www.kqed.org

Mad scientist or jobless.

I came across this website called Cockeyed.com. It has a feature on there about a guy who makes things and documents it. Check out some of the costumes and other stuff he’s made. It’s pretty cool. He apparently has a lot of time on his hands.

Blik wall graphics

invader_image.jpg
If you’re like me then you’re tired of looking at your white (insert your wall color) walls. I’ve been in my house for around 4 months now and have only painted my living room. All of the walls in my house are white. So, I’ve been looking around for a easy way to spruce up my walls, particularly my office. Voila, I found Blik. They make self-adhesive wall decals that come in a varity of designs. It would be a quick fix for my office except whoever redid my house before I bought it decided to put texture on the walls. I have a sneaky suspicion that the Blik wall decals want stick very well to a textured wall. Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to paint and maybe make some stencils. Regardless, if you would like to add some color to your walls without painting then check out blik.

Bathroom art collection at itsallinthehead.com

Sometimes when I’m in a public bathroom and I see some funny graffiti on the wall, I take a picture of it. It’s just one of my many OCD related issues. So, as you might could imagine, I was pleasantly surprised to see that someone has a website devoted to bathroom art. It’s a very tastefully done website with some real cool photos. Check it out for your self at itsallinthehead.com

Mark’s board that he ollied the Wallenberg 4 on at the Rumble showdown in ‘04. It’s broken in half. MARK GONZALES HAS HIS own hand writing on it saying how he ollied the 4, 10 years earlier, but it was windy that day. It has been on my wall since that day.

Mark gave this to me a few years ago. It’s fragile. Missing one wheel from the board. If there was a fire at my house I would grab my wife and kid and this statue.

Amazing INTERACTIVE ART by DANIEL ROZIN

The other day I came across the artwork of a guy named Daniel Rozin. He experiments with different types of interactive art. On his site he has several different examples of his work. The thing that struck me the most was his Wooden Mirror and Trash Mirror. Basically, he uses a small video camera, as many as 830 servo motors and either small square pieces of wood or trash that he collected in NYC. It’s a pretty amazing effect. Take a look at the video of the Wooden Mirror and the Trash Mirror here. I’m surprised I haven’t seen this before.
