Wal-Mart trying out the Social Network Space

walmart_hub.gifLooks look Wal-mart recently snuck in their version of Myspace, something they call The Hub. Actually it looks like another merchandising/marketing tool for selling clothes, for back to school. They offer you a page to customize, and a way to upload videos. The Hub looks like a poor attempt to get some of the Myspace crowd. Take a look and let me know what you think.

I think its way too over the edge. How is this a social thing? I cant even search anything without signing up first. Not very social if you ask me.
Hubsters? Sounds too much like hustlers to me.
You can never copy a good concept (myspace), and have it turn out to be the same thing. There are too many variable, such as the subdomain issue, the fact that the website name is different than the url name. And who wants to be in walmart commercial as a prize? This has Target/Myspace/web 2.0 (an attempt atleast)/walmart.com written all over it.

It sucks, it’s lame, and I wish they would put this much effort into other things, such as Walmart.com, not the schoolyourway.walmart.com, oh and maybe pay the employees more, or atleast some real health benefits, and not the crap they got now.
