More money from less page views at Myspace.com
I haven’t had a chance to read it yet but apparently The NY Times has written a big article about Myspace in yesterdays edition. They claim that Myspace is averaging about $.10 CPM. Yeah, I know, that’s really low. Anyway, Mike Davidson (Newsvine) has a very good post on his blog about how Myspace could actually make more money if they lowered their page views. His point is that they currently have a lot of inventory because, basically, they have a poorly designed site. If they were to “modernize†their site, which in turn would decrease the current page views and create more demand, they could in theory raise their CPM, have a stickier site and happier users. It’s a very well written post. Go to mikeindustries.com and check it out for yourself.

This sounds like a similar idea to that currently happening with Google Adsense – that of making more money from higher quality clicks?
