I Digg Newsvine
I got an invite last night for Newsvine’s closed Beta release. My initial review is that I LIKE IT. Newsvine is kind of like a mix of Digg, Slashdot, Google News and maybe a little bit of Squidoo. In addition to being a great news discovery site; Newsvine has a great Social aspect to it. There are three main features to Newsvine:
1. Read- This one is pretty obvious. They get news from the Associated Press and “thousands” of other sources.
2. Write- They give you your own page so that you can write your own column. They even give you ad earnings from that page.
3. Seed- This is your way of adding news that you find interesting to Newsvine. By seeding a story it will allow other users to see what you find interesting and let them comment or chat about it.
Another interesting feature that they have is a sort of MLM plan that will pay you a percentage on advertising revenue that is generated from the columns of the people you refer. If you need a invite me know. As I “dig(g)” around Newsvine more and get my column set-up, I’ll give a update here.
