Goowy, getting close but not there yet.
I did a post about goowy a while back. I’ve since had more time to dig a little deeper. If you’re not familiar with goowy it’s a flash based web application that provides email, contacts, calendar, RSS feed manger and newly added Podcast manger/player. Goowy provides all of this and uses an easy to use and down right cool Graphical User Interface (GUI). Additionally you get 2 GB of free web mail storage which is more than enough for a daily user. Since the first time I did a post on Goowy they’ve enhanced several of their features. They’ve dramatically improved the RSS feed manager, and is now a totally usable feature; except for some reason it want open a new browser window when you want to click through to a RSS feed. I’m sure that’s something that’ll be fixed soon. Additionally, the podcast player/manager works very well but seems to be a system hog. Never the less, Goowy is making strides on improving a cool web application. If they can continue to work out the kinks and make a few additions like; having a way to sync the calendar with your current desktop calendar, adding a task manger and providing email reminders for calendar entries, I would be a everyday user. I’m sure other people would as well. Go sign-up for an account before all of the good usernames are taken.
